Coming off last week’s Murray L. Smith Invitational baseball tournament, Lamar County plays its home opener today as they host Westside Macon for a double header. The Diamond Trojans (3-0) beat Americus-Sumter County, Marion County and Chattahoochee County to claim the first place trophy. The AAA Seminoles come into today’s twin bill with a record of 0-2 after starting the season with losses to First Presbyterian and Taylor County. First pitch of game one is scheduled to be thrown at 4:30 p.m. with game two beginning 30 minutes after the completion of the first game.
