Diamond Trojans place six players on the 5-AA All-Region team

The Diamond Trojans, after compiling a final season record of 19-7 — and, making a State Playoff Appearance — placed 3 players on the first team, 2 players on the second team, and one player was named as honorable mention. Seniors Blane Parker & Calvin Adams — along with Junior Michael Sneed — garnered first team honors, while Juniors Trent Nix & T.J. English landed on the second team. Junior, Devin Couch was cited on the honorable mention squad. The squads were nominated — and, voted on — by the Region 5-AA Coaches. The Diamond Trojans were coached by Greg Williams, Dave McKenna, & Mitchell Westbury. The Team Manager was Mallory Glaze. Blane Parker qualified with a .472 BA, was 6-3 on the mound, had an ERA of 3.91, while adding 21 stolen bases, and 2 homeruns to his totals. Calvin Adams hit for a .370 BA, was 4-1 on the mound, had an ERA of 3.77, and added 2 homeruns for good measure to his totals. Michael Sneed hit for a .410 BA, threw-out 50% of the runners attemping stolen bases from his catcher’s position, had 25 RBIs, and added 1 homerun to his stats. Trent Nix hit for a .382 BA, was 2-0 on the mound, had an ERA of less than 1.00, and stole 26 bases in 26-attempts. T.J. English hit for a .329 BA, was 5-0 on the mound, had an ERA of .248, and had 2 homeruns to his credit. Devin Couch hit for a .267 BA, played every position in the infield as a utility player, and hit 3-homeruns in one game against Crawford Co. to set a Diamond Trojans Record. Parker and Adams will continue their baseball playing careers at Gordon College in Barnesville with the Highlanders.
