Dickey wins; no runoff needed

According to figures compiled by the the office of Georgia secretary of state Brian Kemp, Robert Dickey of Musella has won the special election to fill the District 136 seat in the Georgia House of Representatives and no runoff will be needed. District 136 includes Lamar’s Redbone district where Dickey got 59 votes while his fellow Republican Judye Sellier got 33 and Democrat Sharon Howard garnered 5. With 99% of the votes tabulated district-wide, Dickey has 1914 votes (50.4%) while Sellier has 1643 (43.3%) and Howard has 237 (6.2%). Sellier, the widow of former District 136 Rep. Tony Sellier, won narrowly in Houston and took Peach County handily. Dickey led all other counties. More on this story as it develops….
