The Lamar County Sheriff’s Office is leading an investigation with the assistance of the GBI into any possible criminal activity. I will present any charges to a grand jury at the appropriate time. It is too early in the investigation to release any further details,’ Adams told The Herald Gazette. GBI spokesperson Natalie Ammons said Friday no investigation had yet been opened within her agency. There was no indication what the investigation will involve. However, in recent months, questions have been raised regarding alleged co-mingling of funds during the construction of the Milner library and a questionable signature on a zoning document pertaining to the construction of homes in the Vintage Park subdivision.
