His doctorate degree, other degrees and experience are the basis for the salary package agreed to by new LCCHS head football coach Franklin Stephens and the Lamar school board.Coach Stephens will receive a base salary of $67,982.30, according to school superintendent Dr. Bill Truby. That portion of his salary will be paid with state funds.Additionally, Stephens will receive the same coaching supplement as his predecessor Jason Strickland: an additional 40 days salary at his base pay rate plus a $12,000 per year head coaching supplement. Local money is attached to the supplement, Truby added.
