Domestic fight brings Lifeflight

A punching match at an Atlanta Street residence Dec. 17 resulted in two police calls, an ambulance and a life-flight, according to a report by Barnesville police officer C.R. Wallace. Wallace reported that a call was made about 9:20 p.m. about a fight between a man and a woman. When he arrived, there were no ‘unbiased’ witnesses to the incident and not enough visible damage to either combatant to cause an arrest, Wallace’s report noted. Another call from the same address was made about 10 p.m. in reference to an ambulance request for an unresponsive person. Wallace arrived to find Dexter Walker, 43, lying on the floor of the residence with an obvious swelling around his left eye, the report said. Two people told Wallace that Walker had been threatened by another person present and retrieved a knife from inside the home. The report said Walker, holding the knife, ‘advanced on’ the person who had threatened him but was hit and fell to the concrete porch floor. He was taken by ambulance to Veterans Parkway at Grove Street and loaded into a life-flight helicopter for transport to Macon Medical Center, said the report.
