Lamar Arts is seeking donations to help fund a memorial for local artist Virginia Cherry Legge who died February 7, 2011. Legge, whose roots run back six generations here in Barnesville, was an educator and longtime Lamar Arts member. The group has commissioned local metal sculptor Eddie Rainey to construct a memorial bench in honor of Legge which will be placed in front of the Depot.
