Donnie Frank Fletcher

Donnie Frank Fletcher was born on October 25, 1949 in Barnesville Georgia to the parentage of the late Frank and Annie Maude Fletcher.
Donnie attended the public schools of Barnesville Georgia in Lamar County and in 1967 he graduated from Booker High School. Donnie attended Morris Brown College where he received his B.A. in Food Services in 1971. One of his greatest memories from Morris Brown College is being a walk-on football player and receiving a full scholarship. He was inducted in the Morris Brown football Hall of Fame in 1990. The sport of golf was one of his favorite past times. He looked forward to the Masters Tournament each year.
Donnie was a faithful member at First Baptist Church. He was an integral part of developing the Family Life Center where he was honored with an award for his faithful and dedicated leadership. Donnie received the Trustee Ministry Worker of the year award in 2000. Donnie was a member of the100 Black Men of Macon-Middle Georgia, Beta Chi Boule’ of Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, and the Houston County Rotary Club. Donnie was a Silver Life Member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. He was a generous person in the community and donated time and money to worthy causes such as the Genesis House of Joy Homeless Shelter, Inc.
Donnie leaves a legacy which includes a wife of 36 years, Robertiena Freeman Fletcher of Perry Georgia that he affectionately called his queen. He is also survived by 3 children Kimberly Boykin Banks (Keith) from Lithonia Georgia, Stephen Boykin from Perry Georgia, Justin Fletcher from Nuremberg Germany, a sister Gwendolyn Allen Robinson (Wayne) from Augusta Georgia, 2 sisters-in-law Juanita Wilson (John) from Americus Georgia and Ollie Dowdy from Warner Robins Georgia, 1 brother-in-law Robert Freeman Jr from Decatur Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
