Mrs. Doris Meadows, age 81, of Sylva, North Carolina, formerly of Barnesville, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016, at Mission Hospital in Ashville, NC. Mrs. Meadows was born June 17, 1934 in Macon, GA, daughter of the late James Edward and Gracie Pearl Causey Watts. She was a member of Lighthouse Apostolic Church and Woodmen of the World Lodge 199. Survivors include her husband of 29 years, George Meadows of Sylva, NC; sons and their spouses, Morris Buchanan of Sylva, NC, Kevin and Pennie Buchanan of Clemmons, NC, and Allen and Leigh Buchanan of McDonough, GA; grandchildren, Christian Buchanan and his wife Kristy, Colin Buchanan, Madeline Buchanan, Wesley Buchanan and his wife Rachel, Haley Buchanan, Trevor Buchanan, Travis Buchanan, Tiffany Sicard and Brandi Griffis; great-granddaughter, Ellie Buchanan; brother and sister-in-law, Roland and Carol Watts of Cartersville; sister-in-law, Brenda Watts of Jackson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Owen Buchanan, and her brother, William Watts. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Thursday at Breedlove Memorial Chapel with Brother Bobby Callaway officiating. Interment will follow in Lamar Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00. Services are being arranged and directed by Breedlove Memorial Chapel, Barnesville, GA.
