Mrs. Dorothy Mae Jones English, age 84 of Jackson, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Eternal Hope Hospice after a brief illness. Dorothy was born in Fayette County, Georgia on May 6, 1931. She is preceded in death by her parents, George W. Jones and Mildred Shivers Jones; husband, Leonard S. English, Jr.; son, Andy English; granddaughter, Leslie Michele English; sister, Syble Goddard. She graduated from Fayette County High School, Class of 1948 and formerly worked at Jaco and Dundee Mills. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Sammy and Desie English, Danny and Sheila English, Randy English; grandchildren, Brandon and wife Paige English, Javin English, Danny English, Jr., Justin and wife Johanna English, Jeffery and wife Bethany English, Shannon and wife Stacy Bradford; great grandchildren, Caden, Addie, Britney, Bayle, Zayne, Mattie Rose, Raegan and Paxton English, Robert Bradford; sisters, Betty Ann Young, Kathryn Scott and Minne Ruth Butler; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mrs. Dorothy Jones English will be on Monday, April 11, 2016 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 4:00pm at Rock Springs Church. Dr. Benny Tate will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. English will lie-in-state at the church on Tuesday from 1:00pm until the hour of service.
