Mr. Douglas H. Stone Jr., age 65 of Griffin, passed Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013 at Spalding Regional Hospital. Mr. Stone was born in Hardeeville, S.C., on July 11, 1948. He is preceded in death by his parents, Douglas H. Stone Sr. and Lucille Cooler Stone. Mr. Stone was a retired truck driver and he enjoyed spending his time working on cars, hunting and fishing. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Geneva Stone of Milner; daughters, Tina Stone of Orangeburg, S.C., and April Stone of Pelion, S.C.; sisters, Vondell Morgan and Mildred Stone, both of Clyo, Ga.; brothers, Otis Stone of Savannah, Ga., Freeman Stone and David Stone of Hardeeville, S.C.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marvin and Carol Tackett of Griffin; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
