The driver of a pickup truck died Tuesday morning when his truck was hit by a train. The accident occurred near the Monroe County line on Hwy. 41 South. Witnesses said he was building a house on property at 1524 Hwy. 41 S. The property is served by a private drive which crosses the railroad tracks. The same driveway allows access to Shiloh Baptist Church. The driver was stopped on the tracks and did not respond to the warning blasts of the train’s horn before impact, those on the scene said.More to follow…FROM GSP:Today at approximately, 11:20 a.m., GSP Post 44 troopers responded to a train vs. truck crash in the area of 1524 Hwy 41 South. The driver of a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado was stopped on the tracks. According to witnesses and the train conductor, the driver never attempted to move his vehicle before the train impacted the truck.
