Driver in Polaris crash has died

A Milner man was lifeflighted to an Atlanta trauma unit after wrecking a Polaris ATV in the wee hours of Wednesday morning. Two passengers, including an eight-year-old girl, were taken to an area hospital. UPDATE: The driver of the Polaris involved in the crash, Brian Wallace, 44, of Milner, was pronounced dead Friday night at Atlanta Medical Center. They may not be republished or disseminated in any form or format – including social media – without explicit permission. ********************* According to a preliminary report from the Georgia State Patrol, Brian Wallace, 44, was driving a 2019 Polaris north on Steele Road at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday when he ran off the west side of the road and hit a tree. The ATV overturned. Wallace was partially ejected and suffered serious injuries. He was taken to Spalding Regional then lifeflighted to Atlanta Medical Center. Two passengers were injured and taken to Spalding Regional. The GSP identifed them as Kelli Screven, 38, and Abigail Screven, 8, also of Milner. Their injuries were relatively minor. The ATV hit the tree right in front of a residence at 325 Steele Rd. First responders reported there were alcoholic beverages at the scene.
