Dziedzic publishes book of her grandmother’s prayers

Lisa Dziedzic has published “Compassion at the Cross’, a collection of poetic prayers written by her late grandmother Ova Mae English.

Mrs. English was a native of Mayland, Tennessee. She met and married Gus English, former Lamar County commissioner, in Chattanooga and they returned to northeast Lamar County in 1949.

Mrs. English taught Sunday School at Rock Springs Church for over 50 years. She died in 2006 at the age of 96.

Her prayers are expressed in the rhythmic medium of poetry and she left them to Dziedzic when she passed away.

“Her poetry speaks to your head as well as your heart. It is with passion and confidence that I greatly recommend her writings,” noted Dr. Benny Tate who was Mrs. English’s pastor at Rock Springs for decades.

The book is available on amazon.com. You can also acquire copies by contacting Dziedzic at 770.468.0402.
