Earl A. Rogers

Mr. Earl A. Rogers, age 85, of Zebulon, passed away Dec. 25, 2013, at the Spalding Regional Hospital in Griffin. He was born in Somerset, Ind., Aug. 17, 1928, a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving for six years during the Korean War, and had worked in property management and photography in Indiana, Oklahoma and Dublin, Ga., before moving to Zebulon in 2000. He enjoyed mowing his lawn and reading. Mr. Rogers was a member of the Zebulon United Methodist Church, a 64 year Master Mason and Past Master of Somerset Lodge 383 in Somerset, Ind., and also a member of the Shrine Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. Rogers and Elizabeth Baxter Rogers and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Georgia Tate Rogers; son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Deanna Rogers of Phoenix, Ariz.; sister, Bonnie Douglass of North Manchester, Ind.; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Rev. Carol Scroggs and Rev. Cindy Connor officiating. The family will receive visitors beginning at 2 p.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Zebulon United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to Dr. C.B. Reddy, the staff of Heritage Health Care in Griffin and to Spalding Regional Medical Center for the comfort and loving care received by Mr. Rogers for the past seven years. Moody-Daniel Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
