The Lamar Board of Elections has set the early voting period for the upcoming general primary runoff. There is one local race on the August 21 runoff ballot. Van Baker and Julia Heidbrink are battling for the Republican nomination for the District 3 post on the Lamar County commission. The winner will face Democrat Aaron Brown in November’s general election. The local early voting period will be held August 13-17. Voters may cast ballots from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. during that week.
