Early voting in the May 22 general primary got underway Monday at the elections board office at the courthouse annex on Thomaston Street in Barnesville. Registered voters may cast ballots from 8 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. – 5 p.m. daily through Friday, May 18. Additionally, ballots may be cast on Saturday, May 12 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. There are no contested Lamar County races on the primary ballot but there are battles for the state house and senate, congress, governor, lieutenant governor and others.
