Easter will be on Sunday with plenty of activities leading up to it during this holy week. Barnesville First Methodist Church will hold Holy Thursday services at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary, a Good Friday service at 7:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall, an egg hunt Saturday, from 2-3:30 p.m. at 581 Highway 341 South, an Easter sunrise service on the front steps at 7 a.m., a contemporary casual celebration in the fellowship hall at 9 a.m. and a traditional service in the sanctuary at 11 a.m. At St. Peter The Rock Catholic, on Holy Thursday, the Mass of the Lord’s Supper will be held at 7 p.m. Good Friday, Stations of the Cross will be held at 6:30 p.m. and the Commemoration of the Lord’s Passion will be at 7 p.m. Holy Saturday, the Easter Vigil Mass will be at 7 p.m. Easter Sunday, Mass is at 10 a.m. Milner United Methodist will hold a special Maundy Thursday service at 6:30 p.m. The drama ‘The Ragman’ will feature high school drama students. Orange Grove Baptist Church will have the Last Seven Sayings From The Cross on Good Friday at 7.30 p.m. There will be various speakers and refreshments will be served. West Mt. Sinai Baptist Church will hold an Easter egg hunt and luncheon Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. followed by an Easter program at 6 p.m. The Easter service will be held Sunday at 11 a.m. Calvary Baptist Church will hold an Easter egg hunt at Aldora Park behind the high school Saturday at 2 p.m. Activities will also include painting. Aldora United Methodist Church will hold its Easter sunrise service Sunday at 7 a.m. Breakfast will be served afterward. The event includes Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Unionville United Methodist Church will hold its Easter program Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Midway Baptist Church will hold its sunrise service on Easter Sunday. It will be followed by breakfast. Lilla Memorial Baptist will present The Blood will Never Lose its Power, a musical, Sunday at 11 a.m. it was created by John Crumpton and Luke Gambill. Other local churches also have special events and services planned.
