Frank Usher took an early lead in the sheriff’s race when the primarily-minority First Baptist Church district was counted but Brad White is the frontrunner after senior center votes were counted. White’s lead has widened further with the compilation of the Redbone ballots. It appears absentee ballots will be the last tabulated. Three people opening over 300 double envelopes. Milner ballots arrived at 8:26 p.m. With tabulation of service center ballots, White expanded lead in sheriff’s race and has well over 50% of the votes cast. Van Baker has a large lead over Aaron Brown in the district 3 commission race. Assuming the advance/absentee votes follow the trend thus far, White will win the sheriff’s race without a runoff – that is a big assumption, however. Only district still uncounted is Milner. Over 1000 voters cast ballots there today. With advance voting tabulated, White and Baker have won. There are not enough absentee ballots to make a difference. White has won without need for a runoff. Voting is complete.
