By Rachel McDanielLamar County’s first baby of the year was Eliana Faith Hayes of Milner. The daughter of Aaron and Heather Hayes was born at Piedmont Hospital in Fayetteville at 8:42 a.m. Monday, Jan 4, 2016 and was 20 inches long at 7 pounds, 10 ounces with fuzzy brown hair at birth. She has an older brother, Rowan Hayes, who will be 5 years old in March. Eliana was due Jan. 10 but was delivered by c-section Jan. 4 after a difficult pregnancy.’Doctors told my wife that it would be hard to have another child and they wanted her to go through surgeries but we decided to forego that and trust that the Lord would allow us to have another child,’ said Aaron.’We had faith in the Lord that he would take care of all of us and allow us to have another baby.’Her name Eliana means ‘My Lord has responded’ and her middle name, Faith, reflects the attitude of the family as they awaited her arrival. She stayed in the hospital for three days and was sent home as a healthy little baby girl. The Hayes are members of N-Touch Christian Fellowship in Griffin.Older brother Rowan has been a big helper with his little sister so far, calling her ‘˜sissy’ and ‘˜mini-sissy.’ He says she looks just like his mom and he isn’t bothered by little sister’s crying. He attends pre-K classes at First Baptist in Griffin.’He has been sleeping through all the feedings and diaper changes at night,’ said Aaron.’He’s helped a little bit here and there, grabbing diapers, wipes, her pacifier or blanket or whatever we may need at the time.Eliana’s maternal grandparents are Lyn Jackson and Tina Jackson of Molena and her paternal grandparents are Harold and Jean Hayes of Milner.
