Elizabeth D. Traylor

Elizabeth ‘Liz’ D. Traylor went to heaven June 2, 2016. She was born Aug. 22, 1922 to Mozell Howard and Thomas Davis of Yatesville. She married the late Glen Traylor. The Lord entrusted them with six children. Elizabeth’s husband, Glen, and their two sons, John and Don, preceded her in death. Elizabeth worked in the community and was always willing to lend a hand. Serving the Lord was a passion and way of life for her. At 12, she became an active member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Yatesville. She later became an active member of the Lizella Pentecostal Holiness Church. Her children, Lola Ham (Clarence) of Columbus, Ohio, senior pastor Ethel Phelps of Lizella, Ga., Dr. Gwendolyn Benson of Atlanta, missionary Betty Coleman of Lizella, Ga.; grandchildren, minister Debra Edwards, pastor Alex Phelps, Carletta Thomas, Dawn Clark, Lynette Willis, Glinda Banks, Lisa Traylor, Dontaneia Traylor, Ryran Traylor, Chelsea Stokes and Torri Williams; great-grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Cannon of Sherman, Texas, and Essie Davis of Columbus, Ohio; sister-in-law, Flossie Davis of Forsyth, Ga., and Anne Davis of Columbus, Ohio; nieces, nephews, cousins; and the remainder of the extended family celebrate her life and legacy. A celebration of life service was held at 11 a.m. June 7 with pastor Alex B. Phelps officiating and interment following in Lizella Pentecostal Church Cemetery.
