Gretchen Ellerby, the former Lamar County commission office manager, payroll clerk and human resources director, has yet to make restitution for her alleged $5,000 a year unapproved pay raise. During a fire fee meeting last week, commissioners called a closed session to discuss personnel and litigation. Asked about the outcome of the meeting, county manager Wayne Patterson said he could make no comment on what occurred in the session. ’I can tell you a restitution plan has not been received in our office,’ Patterson said. Ellerby had until Sept. 3, to arrange repayment of some $8,000 in unearned income that resulted from her unauthorized raise. The overpayments date back to February.
