Eloise Nelson celebrates 100th birthday

Eloise Nelson celebrated her 100th birthday recently surrounded by her friends and care givers at Sunny Grove. ’I had such a nice time at the party but I enjoy living every day and I’m thankful. I’ve had a lot of good things happen to me,’ she said. She was treated to cake and ice cream and her favorite desert – peach cobbler. ’At the end of the party we released 100 balloons,’ said Jenea Morgan. ‘She loves to read and is kind to everyone.’ She was born on May 30, 1915 in Robinsville, N.C. Her parents were John and Trudie Conner. She attended college and worked many years in medical records. She is a devoted Baptist. She has one son, John McCarter of Barnesville who is married to Zohreh McCarter. She said if she could tell today’s young people one thing, it would be to ‘live every day to be thankful for what we have.’
