Mrs. Emily Conley, 86, of Milner passed away Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014 at Upson Regional Hospital. She was born Feb. 20, 1928 in Lamar County, daughter of the late John and Annie Vaughn Clark. Mrs. Conley was a member of Midway Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for 49 years. She retired from the William Carter Company. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, John and Carol Conley of Griffin; grandchildren and their spouses, David and Lisa Dawson and Derek and Theresa Dawson, all of Barnesville, Dara and Daniel Wells of Hickory, N.C., Devin Dawson of Williamsburg, Va., and Darren and Laura Dawson of Griffin; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Powell and Bobbie Bankston; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Betty Clark, all of Barnesville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Aubrey David Conley; and a daughter, Pat Bryant. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Midway Baptist Church with Rev. David Dawson and Rev. Charles Johnson officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery. The family was at her home and received friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Emily Conley to Midway Baptist Church, 158 City Pond Rd., Barnesville, Ga., 30204.
