Dan Boyett, who escaped from the Lamar County jail on Halloween night only to be captured a month later, was giggly in Lamar County superior court Feb. 12 while being arraigned on charges of theft by taking and theft of services. ’Mr. Boyett, you look familiar,’ Judge Bill Fears said. ’My picture has been in the paper a lot,’ Boyett countered with a chuckle. He did not seem the least bit concerned with his fate, yucking it up with his fellow inmates. The charges are those for which he was jailed at the time of his escape. His girlfriend, Amy Lynn Jones, was also arraigned on one count of theft by receiving stolen property.
