Mr. Eugene Speer, age 81, of Milner passed away Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013 at his residence. He was born Oct. 14, 1932 in Shady Dale. Mr. Speer retired from Sherwin-Williams paint store as a credit manager. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Wilma Speer; one brother, Hulon Speer; one son, Greg Speer; two granddaughters, Cassie Chaffin and Renee Turner; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Eugene Speer will be conducted Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lawrence Burge officiating. Interment will follow in Lamar Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home.
