On October 1, 2021, Fairy Hammond Fowler, age 99, met her Lord and Savior face to face, whose love she knew so well and which she so freely shared with many others on this earth.
She was born on Thursday, October 27, 1921 in Upson County to the late William Abe Hammond and Nannie Stallings Hammond. Fairy was a “mother figure” to the younger of her 13 siblings. Fairy was retired from the William Carter Company as a sewing machine operator after more than 35 years of faithful employment. She was a devoted and dedicated member of Antioch Baptist Church.
There are too many relatives to name each one, but Fairy is predeceased by all of her brothers and sisters, husband, Dearl Fowler; daughters, Rebecca F. Martin and Linda F. Martin; grandchildren, William Keith Martin and Amy Rebecca Martin; and son-in-law, Rois E. Martin.
Fairy is survived by her son-in-law, Danny Martin, daughter-in-law, Annetta Martin of Radcliff, Kentucky, and grand-dog, Missy. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A funeral service for Mrs. Fairy Hammond Fowler was held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Yatesville, GA with Dr. Jeffrey Morgan and Reverend Ryan Christopher officiating. The family greeted friends and loved ones one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment followed the service at Lamar Memory Gardens. Fairy was a wonderful wonderful person.
I remember that if I saw Fairy I would then immediately also see her sister Wenny.
God bless her…
