Fambro indicted on voluntary manslaughter charge

Frenchie Fambro was indicted by the September term Lamar County grand jury on a single count of voluntary manslaughter Tuesday, according to district attorney Richard Milam who took the case to the panel as a special presentment. Fambro, 48, had been charged with murder in connection with the July 21 shooting death of Christopher Martin Stepanski, 26, at Jr. Food Mart in Barnesville. Stepanski died of multiple gunshot wounds. Chief magistrate William Thomas dismissed the murder charge September 8.
