Farmer’s Market offers pro cooking demo

The Chamber of Commerce agribusiness committee has a jam-packed schedule for this year’s Barnesville Farmer’s Market. The Farmer’s Market takes place each Thursday from 12-6 p.m. in the United Bank parking lot on Market Street in downtown Barnesville. A variety of locally grown fresh produce, homemade breads, cakes, jams, jellies, boiled peanuts and goat’s milk soap are for sale every week by the local vendors. Next week, May 23, the market will host its first of the monthly cooking demonstrations with professional chef Bill Littiken using fresh produce straight from the market. Chef Bill will give tips and hints on how to make fresh salads and soups starting at 2:30 p.m. For information about this demonstration and a full schedule of others planned for the market season, visit barnesville.org or call 770-358-5884.
