Faster Pastor race results are in!

Atlanta Motor Speedway held the annual Faster Pastor race June 23. Six area church leaders were on “A Mission to Race.” Each church collected donations from its members for mission trips. Royal Baptist Church collected the most money and earned their pastor Paul Dennis the pole position. Dennis led the early laps, however a caution for debris bunched the field up, setting up a green-white-checkered finish. Union Baptist’s Tom Conort got his nose to the inside of Dennis in turn one to take the lead. Coming to the checkered flag, Jay Tenney of First Methodist in Barnesville got along-side Conort, but Conort won by half a car length. The results of the race: 1. Tim Conort (Union Baptist Church, Griffin), 2. Jay Tenney (First United Methodist Church, Barnesville), 3. Paul Dennis (Royal Baptist Church, Newnan), 4. Garth Forster (First Baptist Church, Barnesville), 5. Jay Fuller (Journey Pointe Church, McDonough), 6. E.W. Lee (Shiloh Baptist Church, McDonough). Local Pastors Jay Tenney and Garth Forster said it was a great night and they all had a blast.
