Fatal motorcycle crash still under investigation

The June 15 crash on Hwy. 41 North that killed Rev. Larry R. English remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol’s special collision reconstruction team. Rev. English, 70, was northbound on the fourlane on a 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle when he hit a 2005 Ford F-150 that was eastbound on Zebulon Road and allegedly pulled out in front of him. The pickup was driven by Kristin Kovar of Griffin who works as a CTAE teacher at Pike County Middle School. Kovar was following a busload of PCMS students on a field trip to FFA camp. Her vehicle was filled with luggage that may have obstructed her view, officers at the scene said. Charges against Kovar are possible pending the result of the investigation. Funeral services for Rev. English were held Friday, June 19 at Rock Springs Church.
