FBI takes down two Forsyth councilmen

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has arrested two Forsyth city councilmen and charged them with taking bribes from a service provider. The councilmen are James Edward Calloway, 60, and Desi Hansford, 35. The two men arranged to take bribes totaling $20,000 from a federal ‘cooperator’ who was working undercover. The ‘cooperator’ had a wire in his vehicle and the transactions were recorded. When the last payment was to be made, agents had the area staked out and swooped in. Calloway has been a councilman for 20 years. Hansford has served for six years. Agents are searching for other corruption on their part. For more, see
