FCA hosts tailgate, movie screening

The Lamar County High School chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes will host a tailgate party to help kick off the prep football season Thursday at the Fine Arts Center. The evening will begin with freshly grilled hamburgers and hot dogs in the center’s parking lot at 5:30 p.m. followed by a screening of the Christian, blockbuster motion picture Facing The Giants in the center at 6:30 p.m. Facing The Giants is the story of a failing highschool football coach who finds that to succeed he must convince his team there’s more to sports than fame and glory in an inspirational tale of courage on the gridiron and the power of God’s word. Following the movie, which was filmed on location in the Albany area, two of the stars, Jason McLeod who plays player Brock Kelley and Tracy Goode who plays coach Brady Owens, will be on hand for a presentation and information on the movie. The event is free and open to the public.
