The Lamar County commission will host what will likely be its last public hearing to collect citizen input on the millage rate tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the courthouse.An increase of at least 1.5 mills is a certainty and a two mill increase is the likely outcome of the budgeting/hearing processThe commission must set the rate and get its digest numbers to the Georgia Department of Revenue by September 1 or face a $3000 per week fine, commission chairman Jay Matthews said Monday.
