Fired Atlanta fire chief to speak at Rock Springs

Former Atlanta fire chief Kelvin Cochran, who was fired by mayor Kassim Reed for religious views expressed in a book he wrote, will speak here March 29. Chief Cochran will appear at 6 p.m. at Rock Springs Church. Cochran had been chief for seven years when he was fired for writing his book ‘˜Who Told You That You Were Naked’. His termination wrought turmoil nationwide. Rev. Franklin Graham said, ‘Chief Cochran is being persecuted because he believes in the Bible.’ ‘We are honored to have chief Cochran join us to discuss his former job and taking a stand for his Christian beliefs. I hope you will join me in supporting Mr. Cochran as he defends our very right as Americans and Christians to express our religious views proudly,’ noted Rock Springs pastor Dr. Benny Tate.
