The newest addition to Barnesville Buggy Days, Kids’ Night, made its debut Tuesday evening at Summers Field and drew a huge crowd.Attendance estimates ranged from 300-500 and organizers and volunteers were blown away by the turnout.According to President and CEO of the chamber of commerce, Amanda Rose, “Because this is our first year hosting this event we weren’t sure what to expect in terms of weather, attendance numbers, or even participation. But judging by the smiles on everyone’s faces it seems like a great successMost importantly, the young people had a blast.The evening did have one unexpected event when a fire engine horn spooked a horse being ridden by a child. The child was thrown but was wearing a safety helmet and appeared to be just shaken up. The horse was captured after a brief chase.
