Five charged after O’Neal Cemetery dogfight

By Walter Geiger Five people were arrested Sunday night as they tried to flee a dogfight staged in O’Neal Cemetery at the end of Railroad Street in Barnesville. Capt. Craig Cooper of the Barnesville police department said 12-15 people were watching the dogfight when officer Ricky Claude Wallace responded to the scene after a called in complaint. All fled. One vehicle, a 2011 Honda Accord belonging to Cornelius Duran Walker, was stopped at gunpoint. Five people, all of Barnesville, were arrested and two dogs were seized. Walker, 27, of 202 Westchester Dr. was charged with dogfighting and obstruction of an officer. Also charged with dogfighting and obstruction were Shenikia Michelle Fambro, 30, of 203 Virginia Ave.; Prentice Maurice Head, 32, of 321 Bush St. and Brandon Avionte Lawrence, 20, of 122 Westchester Dr. Arrested and charged with suspicious person and obstruction was LaFolson Keonta Pate, 30, of 596 Brook Road. Capt. Cooper said the incident remains under investigation and more arrests are expected.
