Five people were injured – including two children who were seriously hurt – in an two-vehicle collision Friday afternoon at the intersection of Hwy. 341 and Yatesville Rd. in BarnesvilleThe accident occurred when a 1985 Mercury Grand Marquis, which was northbound on the four-lane, turned onto Yatesville Rd. into the path of a southbound Chevy Silverado pickup truck.The driver of the Mercury, Pamela Saree Littleton, 28, of Yatesville will be charged with failure to yield right-of-way, according to Lt. Mike Maynard of the GSP.Three passengers, two females and one male ages 20, 7 and 9, in Littleton’s vehicle were injured. None were wearing seat belts and two had to be extricated from the vehicle by emergency personnel.The driver of the pickup, 36-year-old Donna Grant of Barnesville, was also shaken up. All five victims were taken by ambulance to area hospitals.The Mercury’s body was knocked off its frame by the impact of the crash.
