Five LC teams will begin play in the first round of the GHSA Class A, Div. 1 state playoffs this week. Four of those teams, boys soccer, girls soccer, boys tennis and girls tennis, will host first round competition.
TENNIS:
The tennis teams both lost first round state playoff games. The Lady Trojans lost to Swainsboro 3-2 Tuesday. The Trojans lost to Temple 4-1 Wednesday.
SOCCER:
The #5 Trojans defeated #28 Dublin 6-0 Friday. They will host #12 Toombs County in the Sweet 16, Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the high school soccer stadium.
The #9 Lady Trojans routed #28 Coosa 10-0 Thursday at the soccer stadium. They will face #8 Jeff Davis on the road in the Sweet 16. That game is set for 5 p.m. Thursday in Hazlehurst.
BASEBALL:
The #22 Trojans split a doubleheader at #11 Fitzgerald Friday, winning game one 2-0 and losing game two 2-0. They lost the rubber match 12-2 Saturday afternoon.
