Five Mary Persons players, including top running back Dee High, have been suspended for Friday night’s game with Lamar County after posting an obscenity-laced Facebook video in which they set fire to a hoodie brandishing an LC logo. The video came two weeks after Pike players taunted Lamar with a basket of pigs feet, bacon and bacon bits left outside their dressing room before the game. Additionally, there are now security concerns for the game so expect to see a heavy law enforcement presence at the game Friday night. Hunter had 30 carries for 216 yards in MP’s season opener against Jackson. MP has not posted stats from their blowout loss at Washington County last week.
