Family members are being interrogated by Forsyth police, Monroe Co. investigators and GBI personnel after a five-year-old girl was found dead at a home 374 Brookwood Dr. Sources told the Monroe Co. Reporter the dead girl was the granddaughter of the owner of the home who, according to tax records, is Elizabeth Buckner. UPDATE: The Herald Gazette has learned two people, the child’s mother and her boyfriend, have been arrested in this case. More to follow… 911 dispatchers received a call from the home at 8:51 a.m. Tuesday regarding an unresponsive child. EMTs attempted CPR but the child was later pronounced dead at Monroe Co. Hospital. Forsyth police chief Keith Corley did not immediately term the case a murder but called in additional investigators from other agencies. The girl’s body has been taken to the state crime lab for autopsy. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Forsyth P.D. at 478.994.6022.
