Former corrections officer charged with child molestation

A 32-year-old Lamar County man who formerly worked as a corrections officer, was arrested on rape and multiple other charges for alleged incidents involving three girls under the age of 12, according to LCSO investigator Lt. Chad Payne. Billy Wayne Youngblood Eldridge of 127 Shadowmore Dr. is charged with rape, sodomy, aggravated child molestation, two counts first degree cruelty to children, two counts child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes and one other charge. Eldridge was arrested after interviews at the LCSO. He claimed at that time to have once worked at the prison in Jackson. The case came to light when one victim told a family member. Eldridge was ultimately confronted and fled to Cobb County. At some point, he was returned here, interviewed and charged. Lt.
