Forsyth’s Grits Cafe destroyed by fire

The highly popular Grits Cafe in downtown Forsyth was destroyed by fire late Monday afternoon.The adjacent Rose Theatre suffered serious damage but may be saved.The restaurant was closed and there were no injuries. An electrician was working in the building at the time the fire started.Lamar firefighters assisted in battling the fire.
