Authorities were summoned to the Women of Excellence shelter at 359 Bush Road Tuesday afternoon after a fracas broke out there. The initial call indicated a woman was beating a 13-month old child and dragging it about the home. That proved not to be the case. The unlicensed home was being shutdown by the state Tuesday for safety reasons and emotions were running high. DFCS personnel were called in to address the child’s needs. Sheriff’s investigators said the proprietor of the home had been charged earlier this year with gambling after she apparently ran lotteries but allegedly never picked or paid a winner. The lot and modified mobile home are owned by Charlott Bush, according to tax records. The tax bill goes to Justin-James K. Owens of the 359 Bush Rd. address, also according to tax office records.
