Freddy Buffington was the guest of honor at a luncheon at Milner Baptist Church last week on the occasion of his 100th birthday.
Buffington grew up in the Buffington Road area of northeast Pike County and farmed for 19 years. He has been a member of Milner Baptist for 52 years and still drives himself to services Sunday morning and Sunday night.
Buffington said he used to cross “that rickety bridge” going to New Hope Church. “I’ve outlived two bridges over that creek,” the birthday boy said.
