Funeral services for murder victim John Dixson are set for noon today. Meanwhile, reports have emerged that Dixson was alive when he was thrown from his taxi into a Redbone gully. The funeral for Dixson will be held at noon today at Greater Spring Hill Baptist Church in Milner. A vigil in downtown Barnesville Tuesday night for Dixson drew a large crowd. Meanwhile, there are reports from personnel on the scene Friday when Dixson’s body was found that he was alive when forced from his vehicle. One report indicated there were hand marks in the bank where Dixson tried to crawl out of the gully but he died before he could make it to the roadway and attract the attention of passersby. An autopsy showed he died from a combination of stab wounds in his neck, blood in his airway and pre-existing heart disease.
