For the second consecutive month, fur flew at the Lamar County commission meeting over a cat trapped at a home and adopted out to what commissioners describe as a good home.Humane society president Joyce Farmer alleged the county did not follow its own ordinance when it seized Majesty from the basement of her owner’s next door neighbor. She claims the cat belongs to the humane society and should be returned.”This has brought me frustration and mental anguish,” Farmer told the commission Tuesday night.Farmer again clashed with commissioner Nancy Thrash who accused her of just wanting to “get your picture in the paper”.At one point, Farmer said she believes the county killed the cat. The commission agreed to contact Majesty’s new owner and attempt to arrange a visit by Farmer and others.Majesty has gone from life on the throne to new work as a mouser in a barn, the commission told Farmer last month.
