Fury second in SSA Summer Classic

The Fury F.C. girls U13 Athena soccer team finished a close second in the Southern Soccer Association Summer Classic tournament over the weekend in Acworth. The Fury, reconstituted with six new players and playing on the full Olympic field for the first time, played four games in two days. They went 3-1 with their only loss a narrow, 1-0 decision to eventual champions, the SSA Harpeth Chelsea Premiere squad from Tennessee. The Fury, which features players from Pike, Lamar, Spalding and Upson counties, were their division’s top scoring team with 11 goals and had two shutouts in four games, taking the silver medal.
