Gambling raid nets eight arrests

Barnesville police raided a gambling house at 130 Matthews Street late Friday night and made eight arrests for gambling and narcotics possession. According to investigator Al Moltrum, the business, Tommy’s Eat & Play, was owned and operated by Tommy Davis of 841 Gordon Rd. Davis was charged with gambling and possession of marijuana. Others arrested and their charges included: Craig Williams, 1901 Barnesville Road, Griffin Ga: gambling and possession of marijuana. Shavis Smith, 667 Floyd Rd, Forsyth Ga: gambling. Darren Settles, 137 Bush St, Barnesville Ga: gambling. Christopher Wilson, 206 Tom Bell Rd, Milner Ga: possession of cocaine and probation violation. Michael Hardaway Jr., 258 Wilson St.Barnesville Ga: possession of marijuana. Jonathan Wilson, 411 Johnstonville Rd, Barnesville Ga: possession of marijuana. Frisco Bradley, 411 Johnstonville Rd, Barnesville Ga: possession of marijuana. Officers had received numerous complaints about gambling, loud music and illegal narcotic activity from citizens within the neighborhood. The Narcotics Task Force obtained a search warrant for the business. Also asssiting were officers from the Lamar County sheriffs office, and the Spalding County sheriffs office. Two hand guns were recovered and $104.00 in unclaimed cash left on pool tables was seized.
