Outdoorsmen and women – and those who just like to eat – will have plenty to choose from Friday, February 1 at the 17th annual Game & Fish Banquet at First Baptist Church. The menu will consist of fried fish, smoked venison and barbecue for those who don’t have a taste for wild game.The keynote speaker for the event is Mike Tison, an ordained minister and founder of H20 Adventures which offers adventures and retreats to connect men with God while out in His creation. He is also a devotional writer, popular speaker and avid hunter.The night begins at 6 p.m. with concurrent, free seminars.Local DNR ranger Keith Page will be back with the hunting simulator and Tim Perkins will return to instruct on bass fishing. Another longtime presenter, former RealTree cameraman Chad Sanders, will also return to speak on turkey hunting.Additionally, veteran primitive arms hunter Greg Hammock and LCCHS instructor Scott Turner will offer a seminar on muzzle-loading.New to this year’s event is Dennis Lewis who will handle the seminar on bow hunting. Lewis is the host of Southern Woods ‘˜n Water on the Pursuit Channel.Tickets are $10 and available at Hamrick’s Sporting Goods and Akins Farm and Home. Over 75 door prizes will be given away to those in attendance.
